Improv used to scare me - then it changed my life.
I have a BFA in Acting and for last 10+ years, have been learning, studying, performing and teaching improv and sketch nationally and internationally; with Comedy Sportz in Austin, The Second City conservatory in Cleveland where I was also an understudy for the mainstage and performed in several Second City Revues - and recently returned from a tour with Second City Theatricals on the Norwegian Pearl.
I have performed in improv festivals around the country including; The Del Close Marathon, Ladies Are Funny Festival, North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, Duofest, Frontera Fest and the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival. With the great Jill Morris, I performed and co-wrote the hit two woman sketch show You’re Fat and currently perform as one half of Rachel and Dave, and every Saturday night with the award-winning ensemble The Frank Mills at ColdTowne - where I am a founding faculty member, teaching improv there since they opened their doors.
In terms of coaching, what I’m really interested in and like to help with is:
* Grounded, connected scene work
* Helping groups develop their forms and personal styles
* Sketch, punching up sketches, transitions, choreographed and semi-choreographed pieces, games, details, sparkles and special touches
* Getting people and shows totally relaxed, excited and performance ready
My availability is currently limited. I prefer one-two-or three off coachings. Contact me if you would like to discuss.
