About

I have a BA in Theater and Literature from New College of Florida and I always kind of hated improv because I just thought it was a hard but necessary acting exercise that made me nervous. Then I saw my first real improv show and fell in love. I started taking classes at Coldtowne in 2008 and I have been performing improv and sketch there ever since. I have performed in mainstage shows at GNAP/SVT, Hideout, and (in a week!) The Institution. I currently perform with the troupes Big Beautiful Warlock and Three on a Match and write and perform with the sketch troupe Comedy Bazaar. I recently directed the Coldtowne mainstage show, Beware of Female Spies.

I have taken workshops from Craig Cackowsi, Rich Talarico, Jill Bernard, Mick Napier, Rich and Rebecca Sohn, Switchboard, Neil Casey and more and regularly borrow/steal exercises I learned from them. I teach improv for kids and teens at the Hideout and teach theater for the Dougherty Arts Center. Because my background is in theater, I like to focus on character work and building relationships. I think my favorite thing in improv is when you can create a whole tiny world through your characters and their interactions. That is what I am always aiming for with my troupes.
